The Thames River in London and the River Bank

St. Thomas Hospital - its beautiful red towers and roof decoration, and that lovely golden wall with the blue houseboats up against it! AND the undercarriage area of the bridge archway... I saw all this....I was on a moving sightseeing boat...and had 1 shot to get it before another boat passed in front of my lens. I got the shot! As I said a couple of photos back - lucky day!

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is actually the bell tower to the Duomo - the cathedral in Pisa, Italy!

A Lovely Little Chapel on the Amalfi Coast, Italy

RIght on the Mediterranean Sea - perched high on the coastline.....this lovely little chapel just begging to be photographed at sunset! I shot high to avoid pedestrians and pigoens!

To be found just coming off on the South side of the Tower Bridge in London! A real surprise and creates a sense of true ambiguity!!

A lovely villa in Calonge, Spain - just north of Barcelona

We rented it for 10 days before heading for Carcassonne, France...I was fascinated here by the way in which the chair back in the left corner mrrored or "sequenced' the chair in front reflected by the rain...there are so many shapes in this photograph - and shapes that reflect, mimic, and otherwise imitate each other, or reference each other.

The Royer Yellow House

This house belongs to friends of my brother and his wife and is on Treasure Island, over the causeway and South of Galveston, TX.It is right across a narrow little street from my brother's house. The families are friends...and this house is remarkable - if only because of its size, amazing views, and solid construction (it has survived several very tough , direct hit or almost hurricanes). It stands as a sort of beacon to survivability....and to the tenacity of the folks on Treasure island who want to hold onto their beautiful homes and beautiful spaces there! In the end, we are truly no match for nature's grandeur and fury! But we can smille in the face of disaster, roll up our sleeves and go back to work. Persistence may win over adversity in the end but there is always the knowledge that it could ALL be wiped out in a millisecond! Not for the faint of heart!

The Ruins Of The Glastonbury Abbey

The difficulty here was getting an angle which would keep the towers from bending.....i.e. apparent lens aberration. And after that to get a really good, clear, crisp shot!

Westminster Palace Rooflines....Including Big Ben!

I was zoomed in very close to this beautiful building because I am fascinated with the beautiful towers, the gilt, the shapes, the background of the sky, and etc. There is much to enjoy here!

Fonthill - the American Arts and Crafts era 'castle' designed and built with a very small crew by Henry Chapman Mercer, and all from poured and molded concrete!

Mercer was an archaeologist, an architect and lawyer and all round scholar and education junkie! This castle (crammed full of tiles brought back from abroad (and other artifacts) was supposed to remind him of the ones he had seen as a youngster when his aunt took him on river cruises, particularly in Germany where he saw many castles as they cruised the Rhine River.

The London Eye

So huge....so high! So overwhelming in its way! But scale it's heights, and the reward is the ability to see the world around in full clarity and for literally miles and miles and miles! The moral of this story: MOVE OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE. PUSH YOURSELF! DO it - no matter what! You will not attain the full degree of your own artistry in any field without confronting your weakest selves! So stand on top of the world and GO FOR IT!

The Shard - in London, UK

So called I believe because it looks like a shard of glass jutting into the sky. And because of the fact that the clouds mirror themselves in the building, it actually becomes one with the 'skyscape!' Just blends in, but still distinctly recalling a sharp shard of glass! A lot of reflection possible with this one!

The Tower Bridge, London, UK

The Tower Bridge over the Thames is, simply, the Tower Bridge! The history goes way back and is easily researched, and it is just magnificent - surpassing, I think, all the modern day building and especially bridge attempts - with the exception of a very few!

Arches and Curves Anchored by Straight Lines.

I am mesmerized by this building. I don't know what it is - although at one point I had found out so I'm sure I can actually find it! It just seems to keep on replicating itself and the newer parts mirror the older parts - actually , as I like to say, sequencing them (it's a musical term, you see! :-) )

Speaking of architecture!!! Sir Christopher Wren hit a distinct home run here! I know - it's a silly comparison and silly to say...but seriously....it is magnificent! He just hit it straight out of the park!

Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, PA

Built to live in by the attorney, and archaeologist Henry Chapman Mercer, out of poured concrete - and using cardboard boxes as molds. Mercer's work is considered part of the American Arts and Crafts movement.

The Amalfi Cathedral, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Amazing colors, and mosaic work - which smacks of the influence of Morroccan decor....considering how close it is geographically it isn't much of a stretch!

These paintings date from the 1400s I believe, and are sensational! Absolutely gorgeous colors!

A light touch here - meaning the little delicate flower pots! Just enough to break up the rather stark and bare walls in this particular area of the courtyard!
